What is a coking equipment?

Coking equipments are a technology that converts heavy crude oil into more valuable products such as gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel. The process involves heating crude oil to extremely high temperatures (up to 900°F) and then cooling it rapidly. The result is the removal of lighter, more valuable components of crude oil, leaving behind heavy petroleum coke, a high-carbon material that can be used as fuel or in the production of aluminum, steel, or other industrial products.

How does coking equipment work?

There are two types of coking processes: delayed coking and fluidized coking. The former is the most common and involves heating crude oil in large tanks called coke tanks. The hot oil is then injected into the coke tank, heated and cracked into lighter fractions, which are then evaporated. These fractions are then condensed into valuable products such as gasoline and diesel. The remaining heavy coke is left behind and can be sold or used as fuel.

The fluidized coking process, on the other hand, is a continuous process that operates at lower temperatures. It involves injecting crude oil into a fluidized bed reactor, where it is cracked and evaporated. The steam is then collected and condensed, while the residual coke is removed from the bottom of the reactor.

The washed coal from the coal preparation workshop is transported to the coal tower through the coal transport trestle, and the coal loading car loads the coal layer by layer under the coal tower, compacts it into coal cakes with a tamping machine, and then loads the coal cakes into the carbonization chamber. At a high temperature of 950 to 1300°C, after about 22.5 hours of dry distillation, the mature coke is pushed into the quenching car, cooled by the quenching tower, further cooled by the cooling platform, and finally transported to the coke field by belt. During the quenching process, the photoelectric automatic controller accurately controls the coke spraying time through the time relay to ensure that the red coke is completely extinguished.
